Full Moon and Snow

When Jake did his New Years post about telling Sanders he loved her, he mentioned looking out the window and seeing big snow flakes falling and talking about how beautiful the snow was. Quote: Our conversation stalls when I say, “Look how cool the snow looks in the moonlight.” The flakes were huge, and I’m not sure if it’s a full moon, but it’s a bright one. Lisa says, “Oh my gosh it’s so pretty.”

However, someone left a comment claiming to live in Bountiful and said it didn't snow at all on New Year's Eve. The person leaving the comment said that it was possible that it may have been snowing further up the bench. I decided to do a little research.

According to archived weather websites, the only places in Northern Utah reporting snow flurries (not the big flakes that Jake said) were in Park City and Traverse Mountain in Utah County.

We have a few options.

  • The party MBP attended was in Park City or Traverse Mountain and NOT Bountiful.
  • There was no snow at all and Jake made it up cause it sounded cool.
  • The story Jake was telling happened earlier in December or November when there really WAS snow in Bountiful.
As for the "full moon" Jake mentioned I found this. moon phases This confirms that there was a full moon on New Years eve. So it looks like THAT part was true.

Interesting. Anyone else have any idea? And please don't leave mean comments. There pointless and hurtful.

Thanks.

  3. I am sorry this isn't about the weather, but I would like to see the people behind this exposed.I have read MBP but haven't commented over there. It's like watching a train wreck. You don't want to, but you can't look away.

And I know for a fact that not all guys are immature like these. That's why I also think the writers are young. I'm 31 and have known both boys of this sort and ones who are the real deal who do NOT go around kissing everything that moves!

From the writing styles my guess is that they're definitely not two bachelor guys. It does appear to be one writer, as after someone mentioned that the writing was similar "Jake" started changing just a bit. What I noticed was that he started writing things like "banana's" instead of "bananas" and such. Someone who is a stickler for grammar wouldn't suddenly start to make that mistake so often. Yet in the "ratings" post, "Calvin" was the one doing it.

I also remember (don't have time to go back and look to see if the comment is still there) that someone was pointing out where it was said that one of them (Lance, I think) had a sister and another post said he had no siblings or something like that. I'm sorry I can't remember firm details. As a whole the blog smacks of insincerity. Girls who are panting after one or both of them are going to feel really bad when they find out it's all just a sham.

As for the stories...I do believe a lot of them are true, but they just don't sit right to be one person's experiences. The story involving Pres. Monson visiting a particular ward for an example. Someone else had heard that story in the comments. Anyone wanting to keep themselves private would not publish something like this, or the "text messages" or letters either. Either the person/persons writing this have experienced the stories themselves over several years, and/or are borrowing them from others they know.

I would put my bet on this being either:

    A married young woman
Or two young women, one or both married so they get some guys' input.

I just don't see two single guys putting so much time and effort into a blog for the kicks of it without being able to meet any of the women they attract. Plus, if they're attempting to gain financially through it (they accepted the calendar idea a little too readily) they wouldn't jeopardize their anonymity so carelessly.
I also think that this could be being attempted for kicks/a project/hoping that they'll become the next big TAMN (seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com)

    Good luck.

  4. I think they have talked to too many other bloggers through chats and even on the phone to not be real guys....however it is weird that they can post texts and letters word for word and not be caught

  5. It is very easy to can pretend to be someone else entirely on chat.

As for phone calls...have these calls been verified by known bloggers or are these part of the cover? If, as I suspect, one of the writers is a married girl could her husband not be doing the calling?

I asked my husband what he thought about the whole idea of real guys doing this blog for the reasons stated and he immediately thought something fishy was going on.

I honestly wonder if the whole thing is a gag to see how many people will support them no matter how low they start getting in their standards. That, and the opportunity to make a little cash from calendars and such. For a little while there, it appeared that they were trying too hard to appear legit.

Whatever is going on, it's not on the up-and-up. That much is obvious.

It doesn't mean much in the scope of things for me, I have four kids and enough to do. What bothers me is that I wish they would take the word "Mormon" out of their blog. I've known enough men who aren't like them that the idea of the blog representing the "typical Mormon bachelor" is rather ludicrous.

  6. Yeah its just interesting to me...i see them coming out on some talk show later saying how un true it was and how much of a buzz it caused...although they have mentioned the calander and shirts they have never actually come out with them for sale hmmmm

  7. When you go to buy a shirt, it takes you to Google checkout and there it says the following:

Mormon Bachelor Pad, 801 964-0655, PO Box 58027, Salt Lake City, UT 84103 US

I called that number and it is for a law firm called Bringhurst and Cooper. It is located in Sandy area. Could that be where "Tori" is a receptionist? Someone could call that number and talk to the receptionist and it would all be over.

  8. Unless that is the law firm that Jake and Calvin hired to handle business for them.

  9. Yeah it is most likely the law firm they hired

  10. you need to post a way to email you. I have some information. an actual MBP sighting!

  11. I called the number and a girl answered named Stacy. She said that it was The Law Office of Cooper and Bringhurst. I asked if Jake was there. She said there was no Jake there. I asked about the Mormon Bachelor Pad, she said that they were clients. I asked if she had met them, she said she had not met them but that I could leave a message with their attorney Mike. I chickened out and hung up when she transferred me. FYI.

  13. Well not that it probably matters, but up in eastern Idaho by BYUI it was snowing big snowflakes with the full moon, and there's places where guys can live where it's a house with a basement, and all of that, but who's to say it's them, and it'd make teh whole getting kicked out of school thing make sense

  14. They are Guys, they called the MG sleepover and we herd BOTH of their voices. Men, definitely.
